Our Repair Process Explained
Initial Contact
The first step on your way to getting your vehicle repaired is to meet with one of our highly trained Customer Service Representatives (CSR). You will be asked a few questions about the accident and how you intent to pay for the damages, but as always our estimates are free. We may also discuss how the repair process will proceed if you have your vehicle repaired by Rydell Auto Body and Glass, along with rental vehicle options and any insurance questions. We want to make sure you are comfortable and fully informed prior to the start of your repairs. If you choose to repair with us we will then be able to schedule you for an appointment that works best for you.
Estimation Process
While you are speaking with your CSR, we will bring your vehicle inside in order to do an in-depth inspection. Our expertly trained Estimators will do minor disassembly in order to discover any hidden damage and verify that your vehicle is safe for you to continue to drive. This is what we call the "pit crew" process, this leads for more accurate estimates and shorter vehicle repair times. Once we have gathered all the information we will upload it into our computer generated estimating software that will give you the true "estimate" with a dollar amount. Once you have agreed to have your vehicle repaired with us we will work with your insurance to complete any and all paperwork for you.
Metal Repair Process
Once your vehicle comes to our shop for repairs we will first inspect all of the parts in comparison to your vehicle, this ensures that you will get back the same looking vehicle as it was prior to the accident. Then one of our I-CAR Gold Certified metal technicians will complete all of the body work in accordance with your vehicle's OEM guidelines. As part of the repair we will inspect for any additional damage that could have been missed during the initial estimate and make sure there is no structure damage that could lead to ill fitting parts or damage further down the road. We will then prime the repaired area and get it ready to be painted.
Paint Process
When the vehicle arrives at our in house paint department we will mask off any areas that we do not want to be painted. Our paint technicians will then prep all of the repaired panels in order to ensure that the paint will have a flawless finish, free of dust or debris. When the vehicle is ready to be sprayed with our Standox Waterborne Paint we will pull it into our state of the art, IR material drying paint booths where we will apply the proper amount of paint in accordance with your vehicles OEM specifications. When the paint is cured we will move onto the next step, which in most cases would be hours away from returning it to you, the customer.
Buff and Reassembly
When your vehicle comes out of the paint booth we will then buff the painted area to remove any "dirt nibs" that may have been in the paint. At this time we will also inspect the paint color and texture to ensure that it matches the unpainted panels of your vehicle. Once the buffing is completed we will move it back to the Metal Technician to begin reassembly on your vehicle. We are reaching the end of the repair process and your vehicle is almost back to your. When reassembly is completed the technician will inspect the repaired area to ensure proper fit and color and test drive the vehicle to guarantee that you are getting back the best quality as possible.
Complementary Detail
When your vehicle is fully repaired we will perform a complete exterior detail along with an express interior detail. We will hand wash the complete exterior with our in house wash bay using soft head brushes and a mild detergent, once we have washed your vehicle we will hand dry the exterior and the door jams. We will then vacuum all the carpets and seats and wipe down all of the interior surfaces to ensure you are completely satisfied with your repair. Now that your vehicle is repaired we will give you a call and even start your vehicle in the winter if you want.

At Rydell Auto Body and Glass we have an in house glass technician which allows us to perform all of our windshield replacements and repairs right in our facility. Our glass technician if fully certified to make sure you are not only getting a quality repair but it will be safe for you and your passengers.
