2017 Rydell Career Forum

On December 21st, the Rydell Body Shop was honored to participate as a host for Grand Forks Public Schools Career and Technical Education forum. CTE arranged for 17 students to tour the Rydell Auto Body and Glass facility to learn about the multi-facited and high-tech industry of automotive collision repair. The students were given demonstrations on the vehicle damage estimation process, structural automotive repair, general body work applications, auto body paint process and a Q&A with Rydell Body Shop manager, Randy Sattler.

Once the group had finished the tour of the Rydell Body Shop facility they had the opportunity to visit the “Toy Shop”. This building is located on the Rydell property and houses the Rydell family hot rods and show cars, including the Grand Master, Madam V and Bob Rydell’s recent purchase, a 1972 orange Camaro that he purchased from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and drove back to North Dakota last fall.(pictured above)

The Grand Forks Public Schools Career and Technical Education is a compilation of programs that educate students in fields such as building trades, graphic arts and in this instance CTEs auto service technology. During this class students will be exposed to basic engine repair, transmission repair, both manual and automatic, suspension and steering and system maintenance on electrical, heating and air conditioning and engine performance, the CTE program offers two courses in this field (automotive technology 1&2).
